Coronavirus – lockdown lifts Dec 2nd
The good news is;
RYA guidance states;
The RYA has welcomed the UK Government’s COVID-19 Winter Plan, which ensures the current national restrictions in England can be lifted on 2 December. Grassroots sport, including sailing and boating, will be allowed to resume from this date and clubs and centres will be able to reopen across all tiers, benefitting the health and wellbeing of people across the country.
Care should be taken to follow the RYA Guidance on sailing with participants from different households and we continue to urge boaters to take a conservative and considerate approach, particularly at this time of year.
What are the limits to numbers for race training or similar organised sessions? Our understanding is that there are no limits above your normal safety considerations but when ashore at the club you are limited to the rule of 6 outdoors i.e. you must not socialise in a group of more than 6.
The difficult news is that we are in Tier 2;
- Mainly affects the bar which very sadly we simply cannot open under the restrictions laid out in this tougher Tier.
- The rule of 6 applies outside but NOTE you cannot mix households indoors.
- The clubhouse will be open for access to toilets ONLY – parlour will be locked. Please note only one person in the clubhouse at a time.
- Overnight stays are allowed on boats.
Lift out will take place 14th/15th/16th December – those affected have been advised – many thanks particularly to Will and Kelvin for working on this.
Stay safe out there and consider others!
