Commodore’s Note Coronavirus – AGM POSTPONED
Apologies for all of the Notes but this a constantly moving situation.
We have, obviously, been considering the AGM for a while now and my plan was to announce the postponement of the AGM on the day after the deadline for nominations and resolutions (23rd March).
However, in light of the new restrictions set out by the Government yesterday it is clear that now is the time to say (formally) we are cancelling the March 30th date for the AGM and postponing it to a new date – yet to be determined! This is the action you need to take now please.
If you not already done so please renew your membership and either post it to us or pop it through the club letterbox. Payment can be by cheque or (preferably) bank transfer – NOT cash – all details are on your renewal form. If this causes anyone any problems please contact me.
We will endeavour to get your membership packs out to you once you have paid and returned your form – we are not expecting you to pick them up.
The deadline date of March 23rd for submitting nominations and resolutions still stands and any submissions will be put on hold until a new date for the AGM is decided.
You will get the required 2 weeks notice of a new date and we will not be sending out another set of AGM papers we will work with the ones issued already so keep them in a safe place.
There are more communications to come – please keep an eye on emails and all communications are posted on the website.
I like to think that everyone avidly reads my communications (really?) but if you know of anyone who is not IT savvy (or interested) could you please give them a ring to keep them in the loop.
If you have any concerns, questions, etc please let me know.
Stay safe out there and look after yourselves.
