Coronavirus – Further Impact
I am sure you will not be surprised to hear that lift in has been cancelled – for the time being – but, we have no idea yet of the timescale for a rescheduled date. All of the members affected by this have been sent a separate communication.
I don’t think we can ban you from going into the compound but please follow Government guidelines and stay at home – as you will know from the news this current set of restrictions will be reviewed in 3 weeks time.
We will have lockdown completely at the clubhouse.
All gig rowing has been suspended for the time being and all rowers have been advised about this.
Okay so what are you going to do now?
Keep in touch! If anyone has any problems getting any supplies then please let me know and if we can help we will. If you know of anyone who is not IT savvy could you please give them a ring to keep them in the loop.
You could go on to the club website and look at some amazing photos. You may well remember that we set a photographic competition for members and we were going to announce the winners at the dinner. The cancellation of the dinner has not stopped Peter Winder our dedicated Webmaster and he has uploaded all 59 entries (yes that is not a typo – I do mean 59 entries!) along with the winners. I was absolutely delighted with the number of entries and the interest shown by members – thank you!
All first place winners will get a prize (luckily it is alcohol so it will keep) and their photos will be displayed in the clubhouse ready for when we open again.
If you have any concerns, questions, etc please let me know.
Stay safe out there and look after yourselves.
