Commodore’s Note

I am very sorry to have to advise you all that Kate Perrott has decided to step down from the role of Clubhouse Manager.  Kate has been a real asset to the Committee and without a doubt a tour de force!  However, Kate has kindly agreed to continue with her Friday lunchtime sessions in the bar and will also look after the Club clothing for which I am extremely grateful.  As she has just successfully passed her powerboat training we will also see her whizzing up and down the river!  Many thanks Kate for everything you have done for the Club and the Committee,

Member Packs

We have a number of member packs waiting in the clubhouse to be picked up.  Can you please do this asap.  If you can’t get into the club then please let Jenny (Membership Secretary) know and she can arrange to post them out.  Contact Jenny via email on membership@stoursailingclub.co.uk or phone 07845076595

Dates for your diary – June

There is so much happening this month that you will need to take note of these dates to be sure you don’t miss anything!

8th June is the start of the Colne/Blackwater Cruise – there is a list in the clubhouse for interested parties.

9th June there will be hot dogs available (at the bargain price of £1) to all who pop down to the clubhouse from 18.30 onwards following the Round the Buoys Race

14th June we have Dawn Wood’s talk about her solo row across the Atlantic (should be fascinating) – supper (from 18.30) and talk £10  pp – there is a list in the clubhouse.

16th June is the rowing festival so there will be lots to see and do.  If you can help with anything please put your name down on the lists in the clubhouse.

19th June – cake and coffee in the clubhouse from 10.30 until midday.

Sailing Programme

In our planning for the Regatta we have noticed that the race start times on the sailing programme don’t tally with our planned Regatta start times.  Please note that Saturday 20th July the race start time will be 13.15 and on Sunday 21st July it will be 14.00.

Close it and Lock it!

On Monday evening the flood gate had been left wide open and the compound gates left unlocked.  PLEASE ensure you secure both gates before you leave – if you are not sure if you are the last one in but you can’t see anyone in the near vicinity on the water please just close it and lock it – better to err on the side of caution!
