Commodore’s Note
COVID restrictions – impact for SSC
In the Commodore’s Note Dated 11th September I stated;
I am also very conscious that we have not been able to reschedule the cancelled AGM, in fact we were discussing it at the Committee meeting on the 7th September. We were considering looking at October, and following the RYA specifications for a ‘hybrid meeting’ (part ZOOM and part acceptable number of people in a room) however, in light of the above changes that idea will have to be shelved. Watch this space!
However, considering the impact of this second wave of Coronavirus and the further implications of that, the Committee has decided that we will abandon the idea of delaying the March 2020 AGM and just cancel it altogether.
One of the new initiatives that I was going to announce at that AGM was Reporting and Dealing with Incidents plus a new Incident Reporting Form. This is something that we don’t want to delay any further and I can advise you that the policy and form will be available on the website under the tab Home & Contact. It is self-explanatory but if you have any comments/queries/etc then do get back to me.
The good news is that the bar opening is remaining a positive and well run activity so I want to thank everyone who has frequented the bar and abided by the Covid requirements we have in place. An especially big thank you to the bar volunteers and also to Kiersty and Phil for the diligent cleaning they are carrying out to keep us all safe.
Other business
SSC Social Media Policy has now been completed and approved by the Committee. It can be viewed on the website via the About Us tab.
Lift out date changed by the Crane Driver – it now will take place on Monday 16th Nov – Wednesday 18th Nov. All tenders on the floor, dinghies and kayaks MUST be removed by Monday 2nd Nov please.
As always – if you have any concerns, questions, etc please let me know.
Stay safe out there and look after yourselves.
