I am very pleased to advise you that we have a new Sailing Secretary – Will Harvey! Will is a very experienced sailor and a qualified sailing and powerboat instructor. He regularly takes part in races both here at the Club and elsewhere. He will be working particularly on the racing side and supported by Alexis Girard who is very active on running the junior sailing side so between them I hope we are heading for an exciting and active time on the water for everyone once the new season starts. Will can be contacted via email on email@example.com or phone 07897791794.
Now that Kelvin has left the Committee we are looking for a point of contact for cruising activities. This forms an integral part of the sailing calendar with lots of our members enjoying the many cruises that have been taken place over the years both on local waters and also further afield. If you would like to chat over this role please contact me on 07701080738 or via email on firstname.lastname@example.org.

We have been advised that there is a large blue fibreglass dinghy (for an outboard – not a sailing dinghy) washed up on the Harkstead shore. Noticed it first on 19 Nov, two days after the very high spring tide. It appears in pretty good condition and the sort of boat that might be used for fishing trips.
There is a little algae growing on the bottom (of the land type) so it looks as if it has not been used for a while. As it has arrived floating upside down, it may have been stored upside down on a beach somewhere on the Stour and floated off on the very high tide on 17 Nov (4.33m by Harwich data)?
