On Monday 28th May 2018 the Club held a Push the Boat Out Day as part of the national RYA initiative to get people to ‘try sailing in May’.

At Stour Sailing Club people could try sailing and also kayaking, rowing, fishing and simply being on the water in a powered craft.

The weather was amazing, it was a hot and sunny day, and although we could have done with a little more wind for sailing we could not have asked for a better day. People came to have a go and kept coming even after the tide went out. It was especially good to have a number of children having a go at dinghy sailing from the beach. Well over a hundred people took part in the event and a further fifty volunteers were involved from the Club either on or off the water.

To top the day we also formally launched our new second Safety Boat purchased with the help of a £10,000 grant from the Sport England Lottery Fund and additional funding from the Club.

Here are just a few pictures as a reminder of the day.
