Only two more days to go before our Push the Boat Out Event. We have put the tent up, organised the barbeque and ordered the sunshine for Monday – so come and join us!
Stour Sailing Club will be holding an Open Day and running free Taster Sessions on Monday 28 May as part of the national RYA Push the Boat Out initiative.
Our Push the Boat Out day will be taking place from the Club House and Town Beach in Quay Street Manningtree, starting with registration from 10am in the morning and water based activities starting shortly after. Taster sessions will include a range of opportunities including sailing with experienced club members in cruisers or dinghies, kayaking, taking a motor boat trip on the estuary, rowing as part of a crew in a coastal rowing boat or fishing.
The Stour Sailing Club is a small, friendly and very active club with activities including dinghy and cruiser sailing and racing, fishing, kayaking and coastal rowing. The Club is run entirely by its members who are all volunteers.
You will not need to “splash out” on special equipment to take part, as the Club will provide any equipment needed and will offer a warm welcome. There will be a chance to meet Club members and find out what the Club is all about, and food and drinks will also be available on the day. The event is open to all and children are welcome to come along with a responsible adult.
A copy of the booking form can be found below – advance booking is greatly appreciated as it will help us to plan the day. We will give priority on the day to individuals and groups who have pre-booked, although we will do our best to fit everyone in whether pre-booked or spontaneous arrivals!
The Push the Boat Event is only the first public event of a busy summer season. Other highlights include our rowing festival on 16 and 17 June and the Sailing Regatta on 14 and 15 July.
