Manningtree PACE (Practical Actions for Climate and Environment) works with local businesses and organisations encouraging then to sign up to be Community Allies.

Community Allies are tackling avoidable single-use plastic, from beaches and green spaces all the way back to the brands and businesses who create it.

The Sailing Club has agreed to become an Community Ally signed the Plastic Free pledge, which is:

1. To work to remove at least 3 single-use plastic items from day to day activities (it’s important to note that this is a pledge to move in a particular direction rather than saying that action has already been taken, and therefore an organisation can sign up at whatever point they are on their journey to reduce single use plastics)

2. Commit to include your stance on single-use plastic in communications.

3. Raise awareness and support plastic free initiatives in the community.

How do we plan to achieve this?  We have all worked together and produced a working action plan which can be viewed here;
