Morning

Spring is now officially with us so it’s getting nearer for us / those who can all spend and enjoy our time on the water once again.

So, news events !!!!

I can confirm that Alf’s Funeral is Friday 5th April at Seven Hills Crematorium at 13.30pm https://g.co/kgs/nK5RxkD for those wishing to attend. Following the funeral, I believe that there may be a gathering at the club bar that afternoon. ?

Another successful coffee and cake morning with £65 raised to issue to the Wolverstone Project for sailing for people with disabilities.

I can also confirm that it will be 24th April when the team from the RNLI will visit the club re the review of personal safety equipment condition i.e. life jackets. John Huggett is going to coordinate a life jacket maintenance awareness check safety brief. This will be a short presentation what to look for what to check what to change and how or throw it away and time to buy a new one. They will advise the owners/members on how to service their own life jackets totally for free, but they are NOT allowed to undertake this on their behalf due to insurances and litigation restraints. They will also demonstrate the importance of wearing the safety device and wearing it properly. Hopefully, some lucky attendee will experience one being discharged whilst wearing. Yes, you bring your life jacket with you, but this is for you! to check and they will advise.

I can also confirm that the details have been put on the notice board regarding our Invite to Harwich Town Sailing Club so if you’re coming put your paint brush down and put your name down quick to avoid disappointment.

Sarah H is still running workshop sessions for those that are having difficulties with membership renewals payments and also facilitating the membership card availability on their Mobile device /Phone which has become somewhat difficult for some not too offay with the latest IT equipment and facilities. Don’t suffer and moan alone, please contact Sarah for guidance and her patience.

While the weathers being kind it would be worthwhile reminding you as a Heads Up as Lift in looms closer each day that it would be worthwhile checking your moorings prior to putting your boat on it automatically thinking its going to be ok. You don’t want to be part of the Weakest link with crafts breaking free so early in the season. Have a think and reassure yourself ? how long is it going to take?

Another head’s up is the forthcoming Boat Jumble at Horsley Cross on Sunday April 28th, 2024, another opportunity maybe to get some much-needed last minute bargains ? or possibly Sell some?

This Friday Big Will L is back from his Far Eastern travels with no doubt tales to tell, what culinary low-calorie nibbles could he possibly have as proposed bar snacks for us all this week. Hopefully there better than Richards soggy crisps. You need to be there to find out from 6pm -9pm it will be open.

That’s all for now.

Have a great weekend and stay safe
